Apart from the few classes I’ve taken in college(which I’m not even sure are reputable bc I didn’t go to a film school) I’ve taken one class at HB studio in NY so far(acting for the camera), I just don’t know what is more valuable: a summer intensive or individual classes? Even though I’m technically a “beginner” actor…

I'm posting this in r/acting because I wanted to get an actor's perspective on this. I'm going to try to keep this question as short as I can so I'm leaving out all info that doesn't seem pertinent. If an actor had to perform a large (100+) series of short monologues on camera in a single take each, how long could thos…

Hello everyone. Im a 16 year old girl from Albania, europe. The acting industry here is completely depressive. We barely make any movies + if we do they all end up looking as if they were made on a low budget. No acting schools are available, just some average courses. A little about me: I’ve always been a fan of Holly…

I grew a lot as an actor within the past year and 3/4 and I've really improved. And there are days when I really feel that, but there are also days when my theatre club's director will criticize me and when we're done with our rehearsal, I'll go home beating myself up about it, even if I also did something else well an…

I am no hater, just wanting to know a simple question. There are actors that aren’t famous and minimum wage that are just as good as A-list actors like Robert Downey jr and Tom Holland. Are they just A list because they auditioned for a famous role and got lucky? What is the catch?

Mostly curious about the idea. I am a theatrically trained actor and have gotten steady work in the Bay Area, but I am unsure if CV-19 will breed a large enough anti-Asian sentiment that will reduce opportunities. We all know Asians are underrepresented in the industry. Probably because most big movie roles are designated for people who cater to the appearance based expectations of most of America . My question is pretty much what the title says, can someone realisticaly expect to land a role in a movie or TV series without knowing a lot of people who already work in the industry?
