I ran into my neighbor Emma who is sporting a SAG-AFTRA strike t-shirt. I told her weeks ago, before the strike, that if she, a nonunion performer, joins the picket line, she will become eligible to join SAG-AFTRA. Hi Community! Here’s an interesting piece from the No Film School Clan.I think the conclusion is rather too bleak, mainly because I believe that this is the time to take up the baton and run the race for independent films. Are actors permitted to sign on to low budget (under 3 Million) independent films as long as the filming begins after the strike is settled? Must a formal waiver be applied for and granted by the Union?
